Animal Kingdom (WOLF)

Hi everyone!

Today i want to talk about my favourite animal which is Wolf

WOLF (Canis lupus), also known as the gray/grey wolf, is a canine native to the wilderness and remote areas of Eurasia and North America. It is the largest extant member of its family. It is distinguished from other Canis species by its larger size and less pointed features, particularly on the ears and muzzle. Its winter fur is long and bushy and predominantly a mottled gray in color, although nearly pure white, red and brown to black also occur.

The wolf is the most specialized member of the genus Canis in the direction of cooperative big game hunting, as demonstrated by its morphological adaptations to tackling large prey. It is nonetheless closely related enough to smaller Canis species, such as the coyote and golden jackal. It is the only species of Canis to have a range encompassing both Eurasia and North America. It is a social animal, travelling in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by the pair's adult offspring. The wolf is typically an apex predator throughout its range. It feeds primarily on large wild ungulates, though it also eats smaller animals, livestock, carrion, and garbage.

The global wolf population is estimated to be 300,000. The wolf is one of the world's best-known and most-researched animals, with probably more books written about it than any other wild species. It has a long history of association with humans, having been despised and hunted in most pastoral communities because of its attacks on livestock, while conversely being respected in some agrarian and hunter-gatherer societies. Although the fear of wolves is pervasive in many human societies, the majority of recorded attacks on people have been attributed to animals suffering from rabies.

The English 'wolf' stems from the Old English wulf, which is itself thought to be derived from the Proto-Germanic wulfaz. Old English literature contains several instances of Anglo-Saxon kings and warriors taking on wulf as a prefix or suffix in their names.

On average, adult wolves measure 105–160 cm (41–63 in) in length and 80–85 cm (31–33 in) at shoulder height.  The tail measures 29–50 cm (11–20 in) in length, the ears 90–110 mm (3.5–4.3 in) in height, and the hind feet are 220–250 mm (8.7–9.8 in). The mean body mass of the wolf is 40 kg (88 lb), with the smallest specimen recorded at 12 kg (26 lb) and the largest at 79.4 kg (175 lb). Females in any given wolf population typically weigh 5–10 lb (2.3–4.5 kg) less than males. The heaviest wolf to be taken by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service was killed on 70 Mile River in east-central Alaska on July 12, 1939 and weighed 79.4 kg (175 lb).

The wolf has very dense and fluffy winter fur, with short underfur and long, coarse guard hairs. Most of the underfur and some of the guard hairs are shed in the spring and grow back in the autumn period. The hairs on the cheeks are elongated and form tufts. The ears are covered in short hairs, which strongly project from the fur. Short, elastic and closely adjacent hairs are present on the limbs from the elbows down to the calcaneal tendons. The winter fur is highly resistant to the cold, and wolves in northern climates can rest comfortably in open areas at −40 °C (−40 °F) by placing their muzzles between the rear legs and covering their faces with their tail. In warm climates, the fur is coarser and scarcer than in northern wolves. Female wolves tend to have smoother furred limbs than males, and generally develop the smoothest overall coats as they age. Older wolves generally have more white hairs in the tip of the tail, along the nose and on the forehead.

Wolves typically dominate other canid species in areas where they both occur. In North America, incidents of wolves killing coyotes are common, particularly in winter, when coyotes feed on wolf kills. Wolves may attack coyote den sites, digging out and killing their pups, though rarely eating them.  Wolves are the most important predator of raccoon dogs, killing large numbers of them in the spring and summer periods. Wolves also kill redArctic and corsac foxes, usually in disputes over carcasses, sometimes eating them.

So that's all about Wolf!

Cardistry, The Art Form of Playing Cards

Most people thought playing cards are only for card games and gambling. Especially in Indonesia where playing cards usually seen negatively because peoples here gambles using it. But actually there's another use of it which is as an art form. It's called Cardistry and it's actually my hobby. Cardistry  is a name given to the  performance art  of  card  flourishing. The term is a combination  of "card" and "artistry". Unlike  card magic , cardistry is meant to be visually artistic and appear very hard to execute.   People who engage in cardistry are usually known as "cardists". Conjuring tricks with playing cards became popular around the  19th century . At that time, simple card flourishes  were often performed by magicians as a way of demonstrating sleight of hand Cardistry involves the use of hands to create cuts, displays, fans, patterns and sequences through the use of playing cards. Various armspreads, cuts, shuffles a...
